LUIS FRANKE EXHIBITION
The word Patagonia contains concepts of rough weather, strange environments, specialised nature and unique lives.
I have spent many years capturing these images of this distant land - a land that caught me in its contrasts: of nature and of human characters.
I hope that this brief collection will encourage others tp capture in pictures what appears in front of their lenses.

FORTHCOMING EVENTS IN DCC (VIA ZOOM)
Monday 8th March – Distinctions Workshop for those who are preparing panels for IPF Distinctions or who are thinking of doing so
Tuesday 9th March and 16th March – the Winter League Finals will be held for Mono (9th) and Colour (16th).
Tuesday 23d March – we are trying something Charlie O’Neill suggested, asking 10 members to submit a previously unused RAW image plus their processed version of it. We will then ask 10 advanced and 10 intermediate members to volunteer as image processors; we will draw pairs (one advanced and one intermediate) who will receive one of the submitted RAW images which they will process independently as they see fit. On the night we will show the original 10 raw images and the three processed versions for discussion. Hopefully the contrasting approaches will be informative.
To ensure novice members are involved, we will process one of the images as part of the Novice Workshop on 15th March with Pauric processing ideas from attendees.
Could those who volunteered tonight please e-mail Charlie at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Thursday 25th March – The Nature Group is hosting a special presentation by Tina Claffey - a nature photographer and author of the book “Tapestry of Light: Ireland’s bogs and wetlands as never seen before”.
"Bogs are magical places that defy any distinction between land and water. They are the last true wildernesses in Western Europe and are home to extraordinary plant and animal species that have adapted in this unique environment to survive."
This is a unique opportunity to see the work of this nature photographer which should be of interest to all. Her website - https://www.tinaclaffey.com/
A zoom invitation will be issued to all paid up members of the club.
This event is being opened to non members at a charge of €5. If you want to advise friends the link to reserve a place click here
