Each month the Novice Workshop seeks to provide a safe, non-competitive platform where people starting out in photography can learn.  This is achieved by setting a theme for each evening and providing constructive critique on the images presented.

This Novice Workshop is available to all fully-subscribed members of the club and is currently hosted via Zoom.  The link is made available to members, usually on the day of the workshop.

The meeting is usually opened around 7:15pm to allow for some “idle” chat beforehand.  Please check the club calendar for details on the theme and the teaching topic covered..

Participants should send three images, less than 3MB in file size, to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..  Some images may be adjusted to illustrate compositional, or photo editing techniques.

27-01-2021 - 31-03-2021

For many years Dublin Camera Club hosted the best photography course in the city.  Now in the light of the COVID 19 pandemic we have adapted our course to deliver the same top class content on-line while managing to maintain the personal attention which has been a feature of the our classes over the years, still offering terrific value for money at €120 for the course.

The course will comprise on-line classes delivered live by experienced members of the club, they will  allow for Q&A sessions during the classes and will also comprise small group practical sessions which will be held mainly outdoors.  We will also allocate an experienced photographer & member of the club as your mentor for the duration of the classes.  You will be able to discuss issues with your mentor, send images to him/her for suggestions as to how to improve and you will have the practical sessions with your tutor.
